Night Photoshoot with Minion

I had Katie over to spend the night and do some photo-shooting! Credits to her and me. Editing credits to her. Peace!

 Us chicas having fun

Hey look there's a camera up there! *typing without looking because I'm watching Full House*

Isn't she gorgeous!? Look at those eyes!!

Katie didn't want to take the time to take a picture of this beautiful, fragile egg shell. She mostly wanted to squish it. "I shall call it Squishy, and it shall be mine...and it shall be my Squishy."

If you look really close, you can see a demon rabbit. With fangs.

Whoa I'm a floating astronaut trippy babe!

 Teehee!

For some reason this looks like it was taken, intending it to look like it was some drunken party. Do you get that feeling? I don't know why. It's chute doe!

Slow shutter speed for the win. It's a musical note!

Haha see her gum?? Nasty ew.

And yes that shirt DOES have fringe ALL over it! I'm a flapper!

So there we go! It was a lot of fun, but we both got so bug-bitten! I've been itching for days. This was one of our more typical sleepovers. You can see pictures from an odder (that's not a word) one next time. We also laughed and yelled "bottom" and gossiped and snapchatted peoples and flooded peoples' inboxes til 3 in the morning. Then we slept in a crib of pillows and blankets. So that was fun!

The two of us together are like flame and gasoline because we are so explosive together.

Travels // La'Haina

La'Haina is a little touristy, quirky town that used to be a port. It's an hour drive from where we are staying. You don't "go" to La'Haina, you "do" La'Haina. Take it all in. Shop. Breathe. Do unashamedly touristy things.

It's so wonderfully blue and green and American. Look at that!

Oh and were they the best burgers! I don't EVER say this. I don't say this lightly, but that was the best burger I've ever had. It had bacon, pineapple, Maui onion, and Hawaiian sauce. Oh my was it good.

Nom. The place had a 50s diner feel. Not like, "we're trying really hard to be relevant and appeal to a generation obsessed with vintage", but like "we happen to have lots of cool memorabilia and have an awesome atmosphere". So yeah, I bought the tee shirt.

Dude, did I enjoy that burger. I wouldn't post such an odd, slightly unattractive picture unless I wanted to prove my love to that burger.

Apparently Maui, specifically La'Haina, has a touch of Britain. So that was just there.

Hawaiian Sunset shave ice. It was delicious. It was flavored mango, guava, and strawberry. See? I had such amazing food!

This is America's largest Banyan tree. It stretches over three city blocks. The branches grow out and drop down to the ground, making new trunks. It was really neat! That's the main trunk.

This guy had some gorgeous birds to get Real Hawaiian Feeling Tropical Pictures taken with.

Pretty bird

I talked the parents into letting me get a tattoo. This was at a place called Henna Lounge, but my tattoo wasn't henna. It was jagua, which is a new product. It lasts longer than henna and looks black like ink.

Before anyone asks, it means "Rat" because I was born in 1996. I have a necklace charm of this kanji as well. Also, before you get all "ew rats are gross and that must mean that you're gross and nasty too" (oh my gosh stap being like that) I'll say that the Rat is the beginning of the Chinese zodiac, making it the most important. The rat is synonymous with intelligence and ambition. Those born in the year of the Rat are supposedly clever, quick-witted, funny, and sharp. I appreciate these traits and wish to identify with them.

Well, that was La'Haina. It was amazing and fun! I did some shopping and came home full and tired.

We leave for home tomorrow morning. When I get back I'll get the rest of the trip presented in blog post form for you guys and myself!

appalachian wine and prom

Those two things are not really related, just the two things that are on my mind right now! Haha don't worry!

This is a song that I absolutely love.

"They both met in the midnight sky
Got lost in each other's eyes
Then threw away the map
And lost the key

God sent them their first two kids
One named Fire the other one Wind
With a note that floated down
For them to read

It said 'You asked what it was like up here for Me'

(chorus)
Mother Earth and Father Time
Fell in love over Appalachian Wine
Hit a rough spell and almost lost their mind
Raised a little hell before they fell in line

Fire came out with a restless soul
It only got worse as he got older
'Til finally he got
Too hot to tame

Time said, 'Son, I know it's hard,
But you're breaking your mama's heart'
And Fire looked up through tears
That made the rain

He said 'Why is it everything I love I set aflame?'

(chorus)

Wind was born to the open sky
With a bad temper and a wandering eye
That kept him on the run
For most his days

Earth said, 'Listen, hear my child,
See, I used to run that wild,
'Cause it's hard to put a finger on the pain
But Son you can't outrun a thing like shame'

Then Time and Earth got on their knees
And prayed, 'Dear God, oh can't you see?
The Fire's too hot, the Wind's too cold
And loving them is gonna kill us both'

Then God reached down and took their hands
Dried their tears and smiled and said
'That's kinda what it's like up here for me,
Yeah, lovin' them'll cost you everything'

(chorus)

So, Prom's tomorrow! I'm super excited! I'm going with my friend Matthew Snook and we are going to have a ball. I promise pictures of us and me and my dress and everything! Today I got my braces changed from green to blue because green braces with a blue, black, and white dress is a no-no. I got bling and a purse and I'm going full-out girly freakout! I'm so excited! Wanna bet how long I keep the heels on? It won't be long I know. I know you don't want to read anymore of this, so I'll be off, but I'll be back with pictures soon!

And bee tee dubs I'm going to Hawaii in a month!!!

K, peace out. billyBobjoe

Babel and Sherlock

Oh my gosh! I'm one composition away from being caught up in school for the first time this semestre! It's such a freeing thought. I can't wait for summer though.

Tonight I'm going to the State Championship game that a lot of my guy friends are playing/going to win in! We're gonna have the hugest, most loud and awesome, student section ever!

I'm listening to Babel by Mumford & Sons for the first time. It is so good. I love the sound of their songs in my ears. I never intentionally learned the words to the songs on Sigh No More, just listened to it on repeat while doing math. That's probably how I learn lyrics best anyway.

While I am not in the slightest Catholic, I gave up something for Lent this year. Guess what. Yep, Temple Run 2. Isn't that awful?? That just goes to show you how addicted I am! So, no more TR2 for me for a while. People think it's funny, but it really was taking up a lot of my time.

My big sister Cadenza is coming home tomorrow! She's been nannying MKs for 6 months and I miss her like crazy. Hopefully all her international flights and stuff work out well.

And guess what! Oh mi gaaaash! *prepare for epic fangirling* SHERLOCK! It is perfect and wonderful and perfect. And Benedict Cumperfection? I mean, Cumberbatch. *sigh* And now we get more Hobbit and Star Trek, so that's good. I'm going to die, just look at him!

This is him and Martin Freeman being amazing and classy. They have great chemistry too.

This is his Everyone Be Quiet So I Can Deduce face. He's so darn irritable, but just like the stories.

This is his I Just Deduced Something So Marvelous That You Never Would've Gotten It On Your Own face.

So that's the update! Also, be warned, that was MINOR fangirling. I was literally ASDFGHJKL-ing the other day. :D

PS - And now that I've finished writing this I am officially finished with school! kthxbi

July 31, 2012

Oh look!

I have a blog! I totally forgot! Actually, I haven't forgotten, because it's been hanging over my shoulder like a raincloud-that-hangs-over-shoulders. Not that I don't want to post, but I didn't have anything to say. Now I do.
Aren't the Olympics amazing? I love watching them. And I mean hey! They're in London.

School (CC) starts next Monday. I'm excited about doing it again, but don't want it to start now! The classes are going to be split up differently, and the people will all be different. I'm not afraid; I rarely am, but am apprehensive. I also need to finish geometry and prep for the PSAT and ACT.

I got a "real" job! I'm working at CFA, and so is my sister and best friend here in AR! My bro has been working there for a while. I'm super excited about having money again. I'm in debt with my parents, aaannnd kinda all of my siblings, soooo.

Take a look at-well, actually don't-at my stats on Goodreads! I am so behind in my reading challenge. I haven't sat down and read since a car ride! I should wake up on time occasionally so I can be productive, but I'm waiting for Fall to do that. Seriously, if I was just a llama, nothing would be this crazy.

I can't do drama this semester. That is, scheduled, curricular drama. The other kind will be prevalent I can already tell.

This is probably my favorite painting, not that I really know much about art. It's the Nighthawks if you didn't know. I want a copy in my room someday.

Speaking of my bucket list, I have so many things on there that I planned for 2012! I saw a CO sunrise, wished on a dandelion, visited Four Corners, went to the Grand Canyon, rode in a double-decker bus, got a job, rode on a rollercoaster, finally visited my friend, rode a massive zipline, got my permit, watched The Avengers, bought a bunch of new books, bought new clothes, went to Disney, watched The Hunger Games, wished on a shooting star, and saw The Dark Knight Rises!

I randomly decided to count how many new movies I had seen this year from my movie list, and I had watched exactly 50! Weird. Now I've seen 51 or 52, but still. Isn't that an amazing mash-up of Batman and the villians? wow.

Well, I'm off to go do mega-important things. I'll probably just eat, but hey, that's important!

I'll try to stick around. Oh look! Krill!

The Aventures of Gnome

I haven't sorted out each day in my mind yet, so I can't give you a day-by-day analysis! I've had so much fun though. You know how some people take a travel gnome with them to take pictures with on vacations and such? Well, I have a LEGO gnome for that same purpose. His name is Gnome.

In California

At the San Diego Zoo!

Me and KeKeJ, technically, my Dwagon and her Companion Cube.

Yes, I was stereotypical and bought the Icee at the zoo just for the squiggly cup!
We have been eating so well. The four of us girls went to Tommy Bahama for lunch yesterday. It had an amazing atmosphere and the food was delicious.

Chicken Quesidilla. Nom nom.
We have also been doing a lot of shopping! KeKeJ and I got dropped off at the mall day before yesterday. We went to Sears, Barnes & Nobel, Payless, Forever 21, Express, Icing, Wet Seal, Pat and Oscars...
I got lots of cute things and can't wait to post pictures of them when I get a chance.

Yesterday, the four of us girls went to their high-end strip mall. I'm talking like Gucci high-end.

I've been wanting harem pants for a long time, and asked the lady at Anthropologie if they had any. They didn't, but these super wide-legged pants came close. I wanted them a lot! They make me look short though. And kind of scary, now that I look at it.

I checked a book called 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die out from their library. I wanted to make some lists and see how close I am. heh heh, hardly. When I got here, I had seen 33. Now, I have seen 35! Yay. 36 if you count Inception, which isn't in the book I checked out, but is in the updated version. *evil laughter* I've even seen more than Hami, KeKeJ's big bro!

I've been swimming a lot too. Pictures of the animals from the zoo coming later.

PS I got freckles from my sunburn!

May 4, 2012

we love you, Conrad!

Oh yes, we do! I just got back from the opening night of Bye Bye Birdie, which was fantomigorical!
I'm exhausted. I'm happy. I can't wait to perform it again and again. I'll be back next year if at all possible!

My mind is full of choreo, leather jackets, pineapples, quick changes, and laughter. You ought to be jealous.

Happy Star Wars Day! May the Fourth be with you, but watch out for tomorrow. It's the Revenge of the Fifth!

~Deborah Sue

PS Avengers assemble! There was no way that I could make it last night, so I'll go see it next weekend. If you spoil it for me, you die... a long, slow, deathly death.

April 26, 2012

cool beans! I'm going to CA!

I'm back!
You were supposed to read that in a sing-song voice. Because I actually say things in a sing-song voice a lot.

hmm. Anyway.
I finished my homework for the week today! And this week is our last week at jolly olde Comm. Central. All I have left is studying for and taking finals! woohooo! Enough of that.

This chick just bought a plane ticket! To sunny

to visit my bestie with my sister! I can't wait, especially since I've been planning this with her for over two years. And because it will be my first time to fly, on a plane that is.
I bought some cute red shoes, which is always a win! I've also been added to my collections recently. Not like...what do normal people collect? Well, I've been adding to my DVD collection and book library! I bought Get Smart, The Dark Knight, and The Italian Job. As for books, I won't list all of them, because I got over ten. They did include Sophie's World, The Pilgrim's Regress, Lord of the Flies, Wuthering Hights, and Messanger. I grin-eth with much happiness!

Also, I want to thank all of you who have followed me recently and have caused my views to skyrocket, for me anyway. It has encouraged me very much!

I've been hanging out with my loverly Anna recently. We spent the night together at her house on Tuesday night and the Tuesday night befo' that. We watched Hot Rod together and I laughed really, extrememly, majorly loudly. ok, not really. But a lot. Now she and her sister and I can carry on conversations without saying anything other than quotes and inside jokes. It's a big accomplishment!

One time we slept in their hammock, and one time we were going to sleep on the second floor porch, but workers were coming the next morning, so we prudently decided against that. We also did one of the things on my Bucket List. I know, I still haven't written it out and posted it yet.

Yay! We watched the stars, and karma got Anna. Her cat jumped on me and scared me while in the hammock, and then the next time, Boogers, the cat, scared her! Mwahahaha! Not that I believe in karma anyway.

We pause for a moment to bring you, some toasted marshmallow flavored "cool beans".

Buh Bye! Cool beans.

March 19, 2012

the beginning of spring break

I keep starting posts, but by the time I get back to finish them, they're out of date! darn it! I promise to write a whole post in one day this time.

*loud cheering* It's FINALLY spring break! Spring itself is so welcome to me, but having no school at the same time is like super-mega-awesome-double-win-forever! I did important things like clean my room this morning, but vegged all afternoon. I watched Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer (don't laugh at me! It looked cute!), a Brian Regan stand up comedy show, and AFV! Oh, and ate. I ate food while doing so.

Lest you think that I get pleasure from folding clothes and putting objects away, that's not really what I mean by "Cleaning my Room" (with capital letters). I just bought a new organizational set of drawers on wheels at Target, so today I was consolidating things to make the best use of space in my room! Why that makes me so happy I'll never know. Just you wait, I'll go to college and have to room with a slob, it's in my future! But I do have practice from my little sister whom I share a room with.

I got some new clothes the other day! I finally got some overalls. I've been meaning to for forever, almost. I'm going to wear them out. I also got some shortalls, which are overalls with half of the pants missing, just to explain. I'm about to get saddle oxfords for Bye Bye Birdie, but also for me to have and wear in general. A few tshirts rounded out the new addition to my wardrobe.

I haven't been reading much lately. Not that I haven't wanted to, but I've just been too busy! I did just finish The Pilgrim's Regress by C.S. Lewis and 1984 by Orwell. Wow. They both blew my mind, but in totally different ways. As you can see on my sidebar, I'm behind on my 2012 challenge, but I'll catch up. Maybe when I go to California or Colorado... Yes I am! And I am pumped! I'll take a few pictures for ya! I'll probably take Pete and then have a post of all of his adventures. CO is for the family vacation, and CA is the destination of me and my big sister to visit some friends.

I think that there's nothing like working. My family members are laughing at me. What I meant, of course, was working somewhere for PAY! duh. It's so rewarding to work hard and put yourself into something, then to go to the bank. You know, God gave Adam work to do before the Curse. Work must be good for us, because it is not a result of sin. Most people don't think of that, or conveniently forget it, although, I will be the first to say that it's not always fun.

I wish my computer wouldn't be so slow. I really can't ever get online. *tear of sadness* I'm considering breaking down and getting a tablet. *looks away guiltily* I don't have anything particularly against them, but I ahvne't seen the need for one until now. But I don't really have a need; I could just buy a new computer. heh heh yeah! Just kidding, I can't! My computer works well enough for non-interweb related things, but I kind of like the internet, you know? Like, wouldn't want to live without it!! Okay, I'm fine. Well, I sure am not thinking of getting Apple, with all it's bling and... this just in! It can't really do anything? Oh, that.
I'm thinking more along the lines of a Kindle Fire. I need to do some research, because I would like an ereader, but one that was also a tablet so I could watch movies, update my blog, listen to music, and play games. Do you have a tablet? What do you think of it?

I'm off to feed Gandalf...my fish, and go eat dinner!

See ya in the movies, or on stage, whichever comes first!
billyBobjoe

PS So super excited about THG premier!

January 28, 2012

funky colors and happy tears

So, I noticed that it's almost February, which shouldn't come as a surprise. It always comes right after January.

I went back and read my list of things to accomplish and things that I was excited about for 2012 a while ago because I want to keep them fresh in my mind. I might do that at the beginning of each month to see progress. Being on January, I haven't done any yet, but am closer to most of them! Except a job. I still really need a job, so I can have money, so I can spend it. *smirk*

If you remember, one of my resolutions, actually, the only one, was to drink a water bottle every day. I have so far, and am enjoying its good effects!

I also wanted to learn guitar.

I know a few chords and my fingers are getting a little bit calloused. No one would be able to tell but me, because I am trying to feel them! They hurt like billy-oh!

I also want to dye my hair a "funky color"!

Not all over! Heaven forbid. I know a few people, mainly in my family, *coughcoughparentscough* who would turn over in their...*thinks* beds? It wouldn't be acceptable, and I don't want to anyway. All that to say, I want to dye a very small part of it blue or purple or both. What do you think?

Thanks to Anna, I've already done this one! Oh heavens. *chuckles to myself because I know that whatever we were laughing about would make no sense to anyone else*

This one is coming up rapidly, which excites me a lot! w00t! Have you read them? Will you be going to the midnight showing?

bBj bids you farewell until next post

PS I found my ring! Yeah, the one that you didn't know existed or that I had lost a week after buying. I'm just happy about that!

Oh, I also watched this!

So good! It was my first Johnny Depp, with him playing a relatively normal character!

Ok, I'm gone for real now.

January 24, 2012

On the town!

Saturday was fun! That's all I can say. Actually, I can, and will, say a lot more!

An outing was planned. That's all I knew. Well, I did know that it would include friends and food, but that's all.
Me, M, and J

I got up super early and got ready for the day, even though I had gotten in bed really late the night before and was therefore tired. My bed was literally calling my name, wanting me to crawl back in, but I stuffed cotton in my ears (figuratively) and did not heed the siren call. Did you notice how dramatic that was? Anyway, I got decent in time for M's family to pick me up and take me to the place of "dropping other kids off and picking another friend up". That's the official name of the place.

We went downtown and drove around while deciding what to do first. First, we went to a bakery for breakfast. I am omitting names to protect the innocent and not-so-innocent, referring to my friends and I!
I don't believe in staged pictures!

I, like the tightwad that I am, bought a pastry, and only a pastry. Of course I did mooch off of M and J's food too. (Those are the initials that I am using to refer to M and J...what?) We talked there for a while, then walked to the Main Library, which I had never been in, taking pictures all the way on M's camera.
This is the "Manhole" dance.

We immediately walked/rode the elevator up to Level 4, which is the all-teen level, which had been redecorated a couple of months before. The place was amazing...

...and had this display outside! Me gusta.
Me being a typical teenager...

The books were all cool, but the decor was even better! It didn't seem to me to be too "let's get teens to hang out at the library because it looks all hip and stuff", but did end up really groovy. Yeah, I said groovy, deal with it!

There were lots of computers, pillows by the window on which you could read, and orange chairs with swivel desks on them.

Can you see the wavy, purple table with silver ottomans?
Lovely M

The lovely J
There was a big tv room where they have movie showings, and the seats were these big, round, yellow, rocking chairs! Adjectives! Too bad I didn't get a picture of them, so you could've seen how perfect my description was. Anyway, it was much too fun of a place to be quiet, but we were...mostly.

Then there was the section with vending machines, booths, and a popcorn maker. There was also a toaster, but I can't imagine what that was for. The tables had bottletop surfaces and upsidedown cups as seats.

Best of all, in my humble opinion, were these cool, green chairs that are really hard to describe!

M obviously doesn't have a care in the world.

Can you see what I mean? There is a frame, from which a stretchy, meshy fabric is stretched taut, and you just kind of sink into it! I want one. So. Stinking. Badly! I'm honestly thinking of having my birthday party there! No, I'm not too old!

Next, we took some more pictures and walked over to Ten Thousand Villiages. I didn't know what it was, which was probably a good thing, seeing as things like that usually make me sick. You know, the sob stories about random things being made by African women to keep their families alive! and stuff. Anyway, that's practically what it was, but I really liked it! Everything there was really cool and almost everything was something that I wouldn't mind having in a future home! The prices weren't outrageous either. I came home with a hackey sack from Guatemala, but could've bought the one-person hammock, the pretty, encouraging word stones, the cute figurines, the set of dice, or any manner of thing if I had had enough dough to spend! I have to go back. (I really have no earthly idea why the font changed! Maybe it was just bored?)

Aren't we cool? We didn't even plan these poses!

We went a few other places and hung out a bit more while waiting for everyone to get their kids in their cars and such. The family that I was with forgot about me going home and took me to lunch, which I didn't have a problem with! I had Thai food for the first time. I even ended up getting home on time.
