inspiration

I've been quite inspired recently.

Obviously.

Seeing as I finally got around to posting on here, something must have changed.

Maybe because the school year has started, bringing responsibility and schedule. I don't feel like that is the reason, simply because my Senior year hit me up out of the blue. I knew it was coming, but forgot, kept it at bay.

My summer was perfect. I slept and snoozed and napped and ate and swam and partied and rocked out and laughed and goofed and fooled around and watched television and practically lived at my friend's house. It was just what I needed.

But August came anyway. It does that, doesn't it?

And I was glad. Don't get me wrong. I want change. I like change. I need change. But I was also scared. I mean, who isn't when their Senior year rolls around? Sure I'm excited! I see the opportunities and also the end.

So August was a month of guessing for me. Should I be focused? Colleges? Be lazy or productive? *sigh*

Slowly, THINGS started happening.

My sister left for college. It made me think.

I was cast as the titular character in our drama club's fall play.

I finally began dance classes.

My friend KeKeJ came to visit.

And when THINGS happen to me, I make other THINGS happen. It's a cycle. Laziness leads to more laziness and productivity to more productivity. I may not have appeared to have been particularly productive these last few weeks, but believe me, it's all building up in me. The inspiration. I'm about to let loose.

Take dance, for example. I've been wanting to dance since I saw a clogging troupe at an amusement park when I was four or something. Then, seeing Singin' in the Rain sealed the deal. I wanted to move like that, to become part of a song. For various reasons, I couldn't and didn't. I took a two-month clogging class with my sister, mother, grandmother, and a bunch of other grandmothers a couple of years ago, but that didn't fulfill the need inside me.

This last summer I began an adult ballet class with my mother. It was hard. I almost cried each week because I was so far behind. I didn't know any of the steps, steps which were, I might add, in French; I couldn't even touch my toes. I improved hugely over the summer; how could I not?

Three weeks ago, continuing with ballet, I began jazz and tap. This is a class for 12 - 18 yr olds. I am one of the oldest, but still having a ball. Some of the girls are divas and some don't even try. I just soak up as much information as I can and have as much fun as I can. It helped a lot that the song for our first combination was Hurricane by Panic! at the Disco, one of my favorites.

Since beginning, I have stretched like crazy. Almost every day you can find me in my room, sweating in my Spanx. I went from not being able to touch my toes while sitting down (16 days ago) to touching my face to my knees in the same position (as of today). It's hard, but seeing progress is incredibly encouraging. I will definitely be the most improved in my class.

So how else have I been inspired? Would you believe it if I said the internet? Yes, you probably would, since you're reading my blog and most likely frequent the glorious, if screwed up, place we call the internet.

I see, hear about, learn about, watch, listen to, participate with, laugh at, cry at, think about, and look at interesting people and things on the internet all the time. The people in my fandoms are smart and make good artwork.

It's difficult to explain, but sometimes, the tapestry of life (super original metaphor, I know) is just so beautiful that it blows me away. Strings of my life come together in such an amazing way every now and then, and just... inspire me.

One could ask, "what do Princess Mononoke, jazz shoes, and lions have in common?" and the answer would be ME.

What inspires you?

Babel and Sherlock

Oh my gosh! I'm one composition away from being caught up in school for the first time this semestre! It's such a freeing thought. I can't wait for summer though.

Tonight I'm going to the State Championship game that a lot of my guy friends are playing/going to win in! We're gonna have the hugest, most loud and awesome, student section ever!

I'm listening to Babel by Mumford & Sons for the first time. It is so good. I love the sound of their songs in my ears. I never intentionally learned the words to the songs on Sigh No More, just listened to it on repeat while doing math. That's probably how I learn lyrics best anyway.

While I am not in the slightest Catholic, I gave up something for Lent this year. Guess what. Yep, Temple Run 2. Isn't that awful?? That just goes to show you how addicted I am! So, no more TR2 for me for a while. People think it's funny, but it really was taking up a lot of my time.

My big sister Cadenza is coming home tomorrow! She's been nannying MKs for 6 months and I miss her like crazy. Hopefully all her international flights and stuff work out well.

And guess what! Oh mi gaaaash! *prepare for epic fangirling* SHERLOCK! It is perfect and wonderful and perfect. And Benedict Cumperfection? I mean, Cumberbatch. *sigh* And now we get more Hobbit and Star Trek, so that's good. I'm going to die, just look at him!

This is him and Martin Freeman being amazing and classy. They have great chemistry too.

This is his Everyone Be Quiet So I Can Deduce face. He's so darn irritable, but just like the stories.

This is his I Just Deduced Something So Marvelous That You Never Would've Gotten It On Your Own face.

So that's the update! Also, be warned, that was MINOR fangirling. I was literally ASDFGHJKL-ing the other day. :D

PS - And now that I've finished writing this I am officially finished with school! kthxbi

eleven

Here are the rules to the "11" tag that I'm sure you've seen around:

1. Post these rules. check.
2. Post eleven random things about yourself.
3. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post.
4. Create eleven new questions for the people you tag to answer.
5. Go to their blog and tell them that you tagged them.
6. No cop-outs in the tagging section, like, "if you are reading this" or "if you follow me". You have to legitemately tag them!

Here we go!
1. I started making a chibi doll a year ago and still haven't finished it.
2. I think that Apple is extremely overrated.
3. I love, and have a box on my desk of, oldfashioned stick candy.
4. I have merchandice from a web comic that I don't even read.
5. I have three Coca-Cola t-shirts.
6. I can do this face: o_0
7. I don't care for cupcakes.
8. I went for a entire year without sweets/candy/dessert because I wanted to with only 5 exception days.
9. I read The Hunger Games in four days.
10. I like everything about bananas, but don't like eating them.
11. I ate almost a half gallon of ice cream with a friend when I spent the night. We would've had more, but that was all they had!

Okay now, here are the questions and answers that came from James and Jacob, who tagged me:

1. Favorite Video Game
I don't play videos games. I would like to, but we don't have a system, and I would waste a ton of time!

2. Favorite Live Action Fiction TV Series (not comedies)
I also don't really watch tv, but I love White Collar. We stopped keeping up a while ago though. :*(

3. Have you listened to an audiobook? What was your favorite? (I'm paraphrasing!)
Yes, I've heard Around the World in 80 Days and Wind in the Willows on tape, yes tape. They were both good, but that was a long time ago.

4. Do you believe in Bigfoot, UFOs, or ghosts?
I pretend like I do! There might be something to Bigfoot. I don't believe that there is intelligent life on other planets. I do pretend to believe in ghosts and love ghost stories!

5. Favorite baseball team or sports team. (y'all ask such "guy" questions!)
My favorite sports team is the US Olympic Team.

6. What is your opinion of the LOTR trilogy?
It's the bomb and absolutely epic.

7. What's the best movie that you have seen in theater?
I haven't seen many in theater, so probably Captain America.

8. Do you like or dislike the Star Wars prequels?
I like them. They're not as good as OT, but the TPM is what I grew up with. I don't hate Jar Jar either!

9. What movie quote do you use most often in normal conversation?
That's not an answerable question. I don't think most people would believe how often I reference movies. I would love for someone to count someday... if that were even possible

10. Do you like or dislike older movies in general? (before 1980)
Love 'em! I love the oldies!

11. Marval or DC?
I don't know. I haven't seen many superhero movies, but probably DC just for Batman!

Okie dokie. Here are my questions for you to answer! If I tag you! I feel such power.

1. What's your favorite soft drink?
2. Beach or mountains?
3. Do you randomly break into song out loud?
4. What could you eat forever and never get tired of?
5. Who would you like to get stuck in an elevator with for five hours?
6. What color socks are you wearing?
7. What are you most afraid of? Really terrified of?
8. Have you ever dissected a frog?
9. If you made up a number, what would it be?
10. What do you collect?
11. Do you have a pet?

I tag Sophia, Olivia, and Bre. Really, this is annoying, because most everyone has done this tag already. Oh well. Don't tell anyone, but you, yes you, can do this even if I didn't tag you!

one mouse to change the world...

I love Disney. What else is there to say?

Disney: impacting children's lives for 89 years.

This is the real Disney

This is not. Did I really just post that?

Disney also encompasses all of this

Please don't take this seriously, I wouldn't want your children to miss out!

Of course, it also did this...

I'm Back!

Here I am. Sorry it has been so long, but lookie down there! To the right.
I won! 30 days of insane are finally at a close, and I literally have been avoiding my computer since then. I don't even want to get online. Weird. My writing has improved a lot, but NaNo has mostly upped my determination, lack of sleep, and pride. Yes, I do have eternal bragging rights, thank you!

I am off of school, and only have a little bit of homework for over the break, including reading this:

But instead, I have been reading this:

I love Jane Eyre! I have read it once before, in a day and a half, but I wanted to read it again. It is also the first book for the next semester, so I am getting ahead. Good for me! I just finished it last night, when I should have been asleep. *looks sheepishly around* Who me?

There is a little bit of snow on the ground still, from last night, but it will melt soon. I, unfortunally, think I am growing up. *sigh* I did not even go out in it! It was beautiful, and I saw the shape of a snowflake for the first time! It was shocking and fantastic, in the most original sense of the word. It looked other-worldlym which makes sense, it falls from heaven.

Also, *inhales excitedly* my family and I have been watching this:

I love it! So funny, interesting, and smart. By "smart" I mean that the mystery is well done. And Neal Caffrey's wardrobe? Oh yeah! We are only five episodes in, and three of them were watched last night, with the snow falling! So cozy!

I also recently organized my room. I am one of those people who enjoy doing that sort of thing. No pun intended with the "sort" thing. Did you catch that? You did? Well, never mind. Anywho, I started out organizing and cleaning ONE shelf... I took everything off of several shelves, out of four drawers, and my attic space. I should have taken before and after photos to show you! I moved everything around, made a huge mess, got sick of it, left the room, left stuff all over my bed, had to sleep on the couch, then finished. I still have a few piles of things that I do not know what to do with, but I'll get to that later.

I'm going to post a few pics of me in my new apron that my grandmother made and gave me, the halo that I bought today, and all my bracelets. I hope you want to see them! I have a ton of bracelets. Random fact.

Sorry if I am MIA on everyone's blogs. My mini computer is as slow as day-old honey, and doesn't like me to hang out on teh interwebz. Oh well.

Holler at me!
