littles happies and the Boy Who Lived

I just want to be surrounded by things I love.

I guess that's what everyone wants.

But right now, with my music and my stuffed animal and my notebooks and journals and doodles and laptop and online collections of pictures and books, I'm so happy.

I guess this is the introvert in me being satisfied. Normally I'd rather be with people than not, but right now me and my hobbies are enough for me.

So hi! I'm currently sick, hence the random posting and quiet happiness in my hobbies that I don't always take time for. My summer has been fun. I've hung out a lot with my little group of friends. I started dating my best friend a little over a month ago as well. I'm pretty ecstatic happy about that.

Also, I'm not going to college this fall, though I graduated in May. I'm taking a gap year before going to a Christian private school to study archival history.

I haven't read much this summer/year but the few books I have read have included Harry Potter! I finally began that fantastic journey that I've been looking forward to for ages it seems. I've currently read all but Deathly Hallows, which I began but never finished so I could finish it with my sister and brother. I've also seen the first four movies, which I love to death. Harry Potter won't just be another fandom to me, of which I have many, but something special. I've loved experiencing it alongside my family and can't wait to share it with my own family someday.

Let's see. What else is new? I saw and LOVED Guardians of the Galaxy to death.

I'll probably be back pretty soon, when I get my new laptop at least. :)

warning: photoshoot post

If you wanna see a bunch of precious pictures of lovely ladies, this is the post for you! Mostly, I didn't want to dump all these on my twitter followers, but wanted people to be able to see them! *smiles all around*

Well that was that! Dey be so chuuuute! I love typical girl hangouts with their lame movies, cheese dip, makeup, and photoshoots. Oh, by the way, this is Katie! She's my baby bug friend.
Which is your favorite?

Babel and Sherlock

Oh my gosh! I'm one composition away from being caught up in school for the first time this semestre! It's such a freeing thought. I can't wait for summer though.

Tonight I'm going to the State Championship game that a lot of my guy friends are playing/going to win in! We're gonna have the hugest, most loud and awesome, student section ever!

I'm listening to Babel by Mumford & Sons for the first time. It is so good. I love the sound of their songs in my ears. I never intentionally learned the words to the songs on Sigh No More, just listened to it on repeat while doing math. That's probably how I learn lyrics best anyway.

While I am not in the slightest Catholic, I gave up something for Lent this year. Guess what. Yep, Temple Run 2. Isn't that awful?? That just goes to show you how addicted I am! So, no more TR2 for me for a while. People think it's funny, but it really was taking up a lot of my time.

My big sister Cadenza is coming home tomorrow! She's been nannying MKs for 6 months and I miss her like crazy. Hopefully all her international flights and stuff work out well.

And guess what! Oh mi gaaaash! *prepare for epic fangirling* SHERLOCK! It is perfect and wonderful and perfect. And Benedict Cumperfection? I mean, Cumberbatch. *sigh* And now we get more Hobbit and Star Trek, so that's good. I'm going to die, just look at him!

This is him and Martin Freeman being amazing and classy. They have great chemistry too.

This is his Everyone Be Quiet So I Can Deduce face. He's so darn irritable, but just like the stories.

This is his I Just Deduced Something So Marvelous That You Never Would've Gotten It On Your Own face.

So that's the update! Also, be warned, that was MINOR fangirling. I was literally ASDFGHJKL-ing the other day. :D

PS - And now that I've finished writing this I am officially finished with school! kthxbi

minimalist posters (part 5)

Aren't you excited? I'm finally getting around to posting some more of these. Now we're at the fun category of Animated films. Yes, some of these posters naturally belong in several categories, but I chose the ones I did for a reason. These are all blue too!

The clock with no numbers serves the purpose of the ambiguity of Wonderland and showing the main symbols. I love it.

This is beautiful, like the film, but simply shows Toothless as a dragon, with none of the personality, which is a good idea so you'll be surprised.

Simple like the concept of the movie. It doesn't focus on the music, but on the magic, which is what the music is anyway.

And now...Miyazaki. Nothing left to say, except that I love the watercolor style for the sky.

Perfection. There are so many things that Spirited Away can be recognized by, but this is perfect.

I hope you like these as much as I do. Have you seen them all? Which was your favorite? By the way, the background for the Alice one is the color that I want the bottom half of my hair to be when I grow it out.

One more post of random ones, then Nolan films is the schedule.

Blogger is being weird and not letting me upload pictures, which is bad because I almost always have something to show you guys. I have a few topical posts planned and a super exciting surprise anyway!

How about an "I'm excited for 2013" post then? I'm so late too.

minimalist posters (part 4)

If the previous set of posters were "girlie", I guess these would be "boyish", but no boy or action flick lover would be happy with that title! I just like things to match and be all lined up. Unofficially, these are the action flicks and one all-around beloved comedy.

Like the colors. All the characters, but still retains that simplicity.

This was a good movie and I like what they did with the poster.

I watched this opening night at a party. It was a little more violent and gory than I was used to, but Han Solo and James Bond! Sooooo....

I can't waaaiit!

So hilarious! I've heard this quoted my whole life.

minimalist posters (part 3)

Part 3 consists of "girlie" movies. Two of (500) Days of Summer, which I have not see, but want to, because it has Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and two Audrey Hepburn movies. Roman Holiday is the only one of these that I have seen. The color scheme is amazing and unintentional. Almost everything in 500DoS is blue, in order to highlight Zooey Deschanel's eyes, the director said.

*sigh* So darn cute.

Okaaayy, I'll do a real post next! I think I have 7 parts in all...

minimalist posters (part 2)

Here's part 2! These are the posters from musicals.

Aren't those fun? I saw that last one, then was like, "hmm.....OH! It's an umbrella!"

Favorites?

PS I love movies.

minimalist posters (part 1)

I have recently discovered my love for minimalist posters. I love them! Some, naturally, are better than others, but the best convey the idea of the story, the main motifs, and the most important symbols in a simple manner.

I'm going to start off with posters for Lucas and Spielburg films.

Which is your favorite? Yeah, I'm asking you, James!
I'll be back with part 2 after a word from our sponsers...

Just kidding! I'll be around. ~billyBobbieJoey

July 31, 2012

Oh look!

I have a blog! I totally forgot! Actually, I haven't forgotten, because it's been hanging over my shoulder like a raincloud-that-hangs-over-shoulders. Not that I don't want to post, but I didn't have anything to say. Now I do.
Aren't the Olympics amazing? I love watching them. And I mean hey! They're in London.

School (CC) starts next Monday. I'm excited about doing it again, but don't want it to start now! The classes are going to be split up differently, and the people will all be different. I'm not afraid; I rarely am, but am apprehensive. I also need to finish geometry and prep for the PSAT and ACT.

I got a "real" job! I'm working at CFA, and so is my sister and best friend here in AR! My bro has been working there for a while. I'm super excited about having money again. I'm in debt with my parents, aaannnd kinda all of my siblings, soooo.

Take a look at-well, actually don't-at my stats on Goodreads! I am so behind in my reading challenge. I haven't sat down and read since a car ride! I should wake up on time occasionally so I can be productive, but I'm waiting for Fall to do that. Seriously, if I was just a llama, nothing would be this crazy.

I can't do drama this semester. That is, scheduled, curricular drama. The other kind will be prevalent I can already tell.

This is probably my favorite painting, not that I really know much about art. It's the Nighthawks if you didn't know. I want a copy in my room someday.

Speaking of my bucket list, I have so many things on there that I planned for 2012! I saw a CO sunrise, wished on a dandelion, visited Four Corners, went to the Grand Canyon, rode in a double-decker bus, got a job, rode on a rollercoaster, finally visited my friend, rode a massive zipline, got my permit, watched The Avengers, bought a bunch of new books, bought new clothes, went to Disney, watched The Hunger Games, wished on a shooting star, and saw The Dark Knight Rises!

I randomly decided to count how many new movies I had seen this year from my movie list, and I had watched exactly 50! Weird. Now I've seen 51 or 52, but still. Isn't that an amazing mash-up of Batman and the villians? wow.

Well, I'm off to go do mega-important things. I'll probably just eat, but hey, that's important!

I'll try to stick around. Oh look! Krill!

The Aventures of Gnome

I haven't sorted out each day in my mind yet, so I can't give you a day-by-day analysis! I've had so much fun though. You know how some people take a travel gnome with them to take pictures with on vacations and such? Well, I have a LEGO gnome for that same purpose. His name is Gnome.

In California

At the San Diego Zoo!

Me and KeKeJ, technically, my Dwagon and her Companion Cube.

Yes, I was stereotypical and bought the Icee at the zoo just for the squiggly cup!
We have been eating so well. The four of us girls went to Tommy Bahama for lunch yesterday. It had an amazing atmosphere and the food was delicious.

Chicken Quesidilla. Nom nom.
We have also been doing a lot of shopping! KeKeJ and I got dropped off at the mall day before yesterday. We went to Sears, Barnes & Nobel, Payless, Forever 21, Express, Icing, Wet Seal, Pat and Oscars...
I got lots of cute things and can't wait to post pictures of them when I get a chance.

Yesterday, the four of us girls went to their high-end strip mall. I'm talking like Gucci high-end.

I've been wanting harem pants for a long time, and asked the lady at Anthropologie if they had any. They didn't, but these super wide-legged pants came close. I wanted them a lot! They make me look short though. And kind of scary, now that I look at it.

I checked a book called 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die out from their library. I wanted to make some lists and see how close I am. heh heh, hardly. When I got here, I had seen 33. Now, I have seen 35! Yay. 36 if you count Inception, which isn't in the book I checked out, but is in the updated version. *evil laughter* I've even seen more than Hami, KeKeJ's big bro!

I've been swimming a lot too. Pictures of the animals from the zoo coming later.

PS I got freckles from my sunburn!

wish you were here

Actually, not. I don't really, but that's the thing to say! bwahahahah! I'm having so much fun, and SoCal is beautiful! This is such a postcard picture, but marvelous none the less.

I watched Roman Holiday one evening and Jurassic Park the next. Not similar, at all. Velociraptors, to say the least, are nightmare fuel. They scared the crap out of me!
I also have been swimming a lot (twice), complete with animal charades. If you don't know how to play, you must 1) never have been a kid or 2) are just plain stupid. Kicks were had by all. That right down there is MDSF's head.

Either feet pictures are really gross or really nice and relaxing looking. I'm choosing the latter for this particular moment.

This picture made my life. Seriously. We all (mostly) trooped to the library, where I found this. Margo is in California!

I've had In-N-Out, gone to the library, watched a bunch of movies, eaten at The Cheesecake Factory, gone to their youth group, read, and eaten. I've really eaten a lot. My mom literally told the family that I'm staying with to fatten me up. I don't know why I've been losing weight, but I have. I certainly am eating a lot!

More to come!

Balloons

It's June! *rejoicing*

My birthday is the day after tomorrow and I'm partying tonight! We're gonna watch Howl's Moving Castle, because 1) I love that movie 2) A few other people coming love that movie and 3) Those who haven't seen it need to be educated. We're also going to eat and play Catchphrase. Did y'all know that I'm beast at that game? I really am.

Not so beast at driver's tests. I failed my permit test this morning. It wouldn't have been a bad idea to read 1) all of the 2) correct booklet. So, I failed my first test ever. Literally, ever. Oh well. At least the rumor that bullies start about not being able to drive alone until 18 if you don't get your permit before 16 is false.

I bought new clothes today because 1) I needed them and 2) I'm leaving for CA soon! I might post pictures at some point after I get each piece approved by Daddy and the Brother. I got a red knee-length dress that is the pattern of bandanas! I also got a grey skirt with green and purple stitching. What else? And a green dress, but I don't know if it'll work.

The cake.....is Batman!!! *theme music* Yes, a(n almost) sixteen year old girl had a Batman cake and is going to watch anime for her "sweet 16". Whatcha lookin' at, punk??? jaykay!

I've been reading a lot on mah new Kindle Fire! I've read Miss Peregrin's Home for Peculiar Children...

and two Lowry's: Gossamer and Gatherine Blue. I loved them all, but the one with the picture representing it was my favorite! I do enjoy reading Lowry though.

I'm off to go put balloons on the mailbox! I'll be back when "I'm sixteen going on seventeen..."! *music*
